Moved to the Pacific Northwest immediately following graduation (1969) and attended Western Washington State College (now University) for 2 years. Transferred to the UW for my final two years although graduation was delayed for some time off. I took Norwegian at the U and spent just under one year in Norway working as a nanny outside Lillehammer and then in a grocery store in Oslo. Following this, I returned and graduated in 1976 with a B.S. in Math.
I hired in at Boeing about a year later and worked there as a computer programmer & systems analyst for 13 years. I then "retired" to be a stay-at-home mom. I didn't really intend to retire, but never went back to work as I was done with programming and just never found another career path that interested me.
These days, I enjoy heading to the beach (Puget Sound) on low tide days in the summer to do some beach naturalist work. I also enjoy playing in a handbell choir and spending time with family in Tempe/Mesa/Gilbert Arizona.
