Joy was the true description of beauty.  She was tall, beautiful, and an amazing athlete.  I remember watching her run and do tumbling routines at Lake Barcroft and landing upright in the water.  She always had tons of friends and smiled all the time.  When she was shot by her then boyfriend I prayed for her everyday.  When she graduated with us, I had tears in my eyes.  She was a fighter.  She deserved a better life than that. When I heard of her death,my heart just fell apart.  I will always remember her.

I know that I am a little late with my comments.  I just wanted to say that Joy was an amazing person.  I am so sorry to  hear that she passed away.  Joy had a way of lighting up a room as soon as she entered.  Her smile was infectious.  Her personality was flawless.  Joy had a way of making anyone who came in contact her want to be a better person.  She was beautifull, smart, and genuine in every definition of the word.  She loved everyone no matter who you were -whether you were popular or not popular, pretty/handsome or not so pretty or handsome.  It didn't matter to Joy.  She brightened up everyone's life by just being who she was Joy.  God has another angel in heaven. We will miss her so much and remember her as light, a beacon who continuously shined no matter what she went through.  She was strong and she was a fighter.  The horrible person will pay for what he did to her. God has a way of protecting his own.  I know Joy is in heaven and as long as we remember her for who she was --she will still be the beautiful high school girl whose memories and infectious laughter roam the halls of J.E.B Stuart High School.  Joy we will miss you so much.  We luv you Joy.  Sincerely Barbara, Andrea and Kiera Dunford
