Vance was a kind and supportive teammate, and a good friend through childhood.. He was the largest offensive tackle on the 68' and 69' teams, a big kid from a family of big people, who later went to West Point to play ball. I will always appreciate his mentoring and preparation support for the under sized Junior linemen, myself included, who had to step in as starters for the 69' team that went 8-2 that year including defeating the number one ranked high school team in the nation at the time, Annandale, that had won 44 games straight until we defeated them. Those of us who fought in the pit with Vance still miss our old teammate. To trailsend old friend.
I will always remember your Journalism class...I was quite shy back then, but I blossomed to become a good lawyer with awesome writing skills and It all started in your class.
