I didn't know Jim all that well but I think it was the following summer after graduation that we were hanging out a bit playing some pickup B-ball around the local park courts shootin' the breeze etc.. anyway it turns out that Jim was quite the traveler. He hitched around the U.S. went to the South Western states and hitched around for close to a year and had a nice adventure. He had to hitch because he could not see well enough to legally drive. Jim was a genuinely nice fellow, well read, polite... great guy.
