Doug passed away March 1st, 2012.  He was hospitalized with an infection surrounding his heart, that caused blood clots and several strokes.  Here is his obituary:

March 1, 2012 Douglas David Bohrer, 48, of Auburn, died Thursday after a sudden illness. Born in Washington, DC, he was a self-employed developer and owner of Boar Enterprises. He was a 1982 graduate of Jeb Stuart High School in Falls Church, VA, and a 1993 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. Doug loved the outdoors, animals, spending time with friends and being a devoted father to his three children. He was always first to quietly assist anyone who needed help. He is survived by his wife, Constance Coyne Bohrer; his loving children, Calvin, Emma and Maddie; his parents, David and Carol Bohrer of Locust Grove, VA; a sister, Deborah (Doug) Rider of Falls Church; his uncle, Richard Koerselman of New Bern, NC; and several cousins.

Doug and his family were my next door neighbors from when my family moved to Kennedy Lane in 1971 all through school days and then some.  He was such a pain through Glasgow days but became a good friend in high school days and beyond.  Our families were very close, from parties, church, crab feasts, camping, boating and fishing.  We kids all became confirmed together at Sleepy Hollow UMC when it was located on Holloman Road.

Rest In Heavenly Peace Doug.

Amy West
