Graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in electrical engineering. When on to become a PE/ professional engineer. Work for Naval air systems command / specialist in radar. Served 1 year in Vietnam upon completing his ROTC requirements from UVA.
Steve Chatfield (1963)
Jerry and I were pretty good friends at Stuart but it was in our first year at UVA that we became quite close. We paired up to hitch hike back to Falls Church on at least five occasions during that year and what a wealth of shared commentary on world and colliege events flowed, standing by the roadside with our thumbs out. I transferred from UVA to complete my college education at UCLA and lost touch with Jerry which I truly regret. Painfully, while researching classmates for the 2014 Stuart Reunion, I encountered his obituary and realized for several years we had been living just a few miles apart in San Diego. What an opportunity to reconnect was lost! I really miss those times hanging out with Jerry and will treasure the memories.
