Judith Ginder - Class Of 1966

JUDITH SHEDD Judith Ann "Judy" Ginder Shedd, age 62, devoted wife and beloved mother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully after bravely battling a long-term illness on Friday, December 24, 2010, in Fairfax, VA. She was and has been surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born February 8, 1948 in New York to Col. Allen Ginder and Ruth Paulsen Ginder. As part of a military family, Judy spent her youth moving around to interesting places and particularly enjoyed her time in Alaska and in the Washington, D.C. area. Judy had an active youth and was an accomplished swimmer and skier. Judy attended Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY where she earned a degree in Political Science. In 1969, she met her future husband, William Edgar Shedd, IV in the Philippines where their parents were stationed. They were married on November 21, 1970 in the Old Post Chapel in Fort Myer, VA. Judy Shedd was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her children Mark Shedd of Tampa, FL, Kristen Shedd of Waldorf, MD and David Shedd of Alexandria, VA. She is further survived by her brothers Allen Ginder, Larry Ginder, Peter Ginder and their families. She is further survived by her brothers-in-law Earl P. "Pat" Shedd, Robert N. Shedd, James S. Shedd, and their families. The family will hold a memorial service on Monday February 28 2011 at the Ft. Myer Chapel in Ft. Myer, VA at 3:00 pm immediately followed by inurnment in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association<ad> .
