Scott died on June 23, 1972. Born in 1949, Scott died at age 23 in Bethesda MD, after a "brief illness".
Online archives of newspaper articles display at least three obituaries for Scott, noting that Scott was an accomplished athlete at running and won a "high jump" competition where he jumped 6 feet plus 6.25 inches.
I knew Scott fairly well, during grade school. I knew him well enough to be welcome in his home, and he visited my home when we were teenagers.
When I returned to civilian life after two years in the Army, I always wondered why the silence because I always reasoned that Scott would want to reconnect with me, just as I had wanted to reconnect with Scott. I finally got my answer. He died.
I am going to try to upload screen captures for three obituaries for Scott. Let us hope that I succeed.
