I read that Nicholas died in 2007 after a battle with cancer.  He had played quarterback at the University of North Carolina in 1972 when they had one of their best seasons ever.

I remember when Nick was quarterback of the Stuart football team. He was very good. I'm sorry to hear that he passed away at such a young age.

Nick Vidnovic was several years older than I, but his legend loomed large and a lot if us wanted to be like him. His mom gave me his "Don't Buy Books By Crooks" T-shirt and I wore it proudly at Stuart. Years later, I saw him again and he gave me another, which I still have.  He was a riot, and taught us how smart fun could be.

I didn't know Nicholas, but I believe Marty was an older brother...  Marty was a classmate of mine.

Nick was a great guy. I played Football at JEB Stuart with him. He was a great quarterback , punter and overall athlete. His mom, Marge, was my counselor at Stuart. Nick was very personable. So sad he died so young.

Any relation to Mrs Vidnovic?  She was my guidance counselor at Stuart HS.  I liked her.  Good guidance counselor.  I remember Marty Vidnovic, who must have been Nic's brother because there aren't too many people named Vidnovic.  I remember when Marty sang solo "Ava Maria" to a packed audience in the Stuart HS basketball gymnasium.  That would have been in the 1960s.
