Sad to hear of Bill’s passing, always remember him as being friendly and pleasant. We weren’t close but were teammates on the varsity football team (1971 season) when I was a senior and he was a junior. We were both on the offensive line that season, he was our backup tight end and I was the starting center. As a teenager, I used to work summers as a lifeguard and would run into Bill every now and then. During the summer of 1973, I worked at the pool at the Rembrandt Condos (just adjacent to JEB Stuart on the other side of the wire fence on the northeast side). Bill would occasionally come down to the pool and we’d chat for a while. I recall that he’d usually come down with a pair of fins and practice swimming underwater with them. His father was also very cordial whenever he came down to the pool. RIP.
