Tim was a good friend in high shcool and college days. He and I were tennis partners on the tennis team and he was an amazing partner on the court. In college he would often swing by UVa to pick me up to come home for the weekend and we always fit in tennis no matter how cold the winters were. He had a dry wit and was always insightful about people and life. He was also an unmerdiful but good-natured teaser and never let me live down my accent even long after it had disappeared. His passing in 2009 came way too soon. I might never have known had another team mate of ours (Dave Ullman) called to let me know.
