Fitz was a 2010 graduate of J.E.B. Stuart High School in Fairfax County, VA and a senior at Longwood University in Farmville, VA at the time of his death. He was in the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree program majoring in theater technology and stage management - a high school passion he chose to pursue as a professional. Fitz was an Eagle Scout and earned his Eagle rank while a member of Troop 875 in Falls Church, VA. Fitz was much beloved by his friends and family. He was respected and well-liked by his school department, both faculty and classmates.
