Took the scenic route through college starting at The Citadel in the fall of 1973 and being asked "politely" to leave three weeks into my Junior year (fall of 1975) because I had too many demerits and my grades were a bit below standards...I went back to school in January of 1977 and graduated in 1980 from Clinch Valley College (now UVA-Wise).

Met my wife, Laura, in July of 1982 and we married on 16 July 1983.

Worked for the Department of Defense Intelligence Community as both a Foreign Intelligence Officer and Acquisition Intelligence Officer in support of Research, Development and Acquisition for the Army for 30 years, then my last two years with the Air Force up on the Air Staff (A2) at The Pentagon. Retired from the Federal Government after 32 years on 3 August 2013. My wife, Laura worked for OSD in the International Cooperative Agreements Office and retired on 3 Sep 2015. July 16 2024 was our 41st wedding anniversary!

I was actively involved with my kids growing up coaching them in football, baseball, basketball and soccer. I also was the Vice President for Activities for Springfield-South County Youth Club from 2003-2005 and then again from 2020-2022. I also was the Chairman of the Oversight Board of the West Springfield High School Football Program from 2008-2009 and President of the West Springfield High School's Boys Lacrosse Booster Program from 2009-2010.

My hobby is civil war relic hunting (with a metal detector) which I have done for over 35 years....I have quite a collection of northern and southern civil war relics to show for it.

I went back to school in 2021 and completed my Masters of Art in Military History from The Citadel Graduate College in December 2024 with a 3.9 GPA. It was quite a challenge going back to school after 40+ years of being out of a graded classroom environment.

2. Partying at Brian Murphy's house on Lake Barcroft...great times!
3. Ocean City after graduation!
4. Getting into a small "scuffle" with the locals in downtown DC on graduation night with Brian Murphy, Jim Hicks, Bill Dando and Mark Brown
5. Having Ms. Roberts point out to me all the mistakes I made on the excuse slips I stole and tried to pass off for her signature when I skipped her class
6. Forging my Mom's signature on the Main Office form so I could forge my own notes to be excused when I skipped class
7. Breaking the back window on the school bus on the way to an away baseball game while mooning Don McNey in his car behind us.
8. Dating mostly girls from FallsChurch and Annandale High School…..they were a bit "friendlier" than the girls that attended Stuart (LoL)!
9. Hanging out with great friends during my four years!!!!!
